About Counselling and Psychotherapy
Problems in our lives can give rise to heightened emotions, possibly clouding our objectivity and leaving us with fewer options. This in turn can give rise to a feeling of helplessness and hopelessness, preventing us from moving forward and reaching our full potential. The process of counselling involves exploring and working through these problems in a safe, non-judgemental and confidential environment.
Although friends and relatives can be a valuable support, you may not always wish to discuss certain issues with them, for whatever reason. Additionally, listening without judgement and with the ability to reflect is a skill that requires training.
Whether it is a current problem, or a need to gain greater insight and awareness, counselling can be a very enlightening experience and a positive step towards a better fuller life.
